A good script

A good voice talent, recording studio and sound engineer

Sadly I didn’t have these either. But I did have a medium sized closet. A good podcasting mic, and Garageband to lay down the sound bed, mix the tracks and then trim the voice track till it was a syllable-precise match to the soundbed.

A good teccie to create the app

The ones I knew were stacked. So I signed up as an iOS App Developer. And went on a steep learning curve… It taught me a lot about the challenges technologists face getting apps to market. But I got there in the end…

A finished product

This was it. Version 1.0 of Unbreak Your Heart. It had a media player various scrolls and page views, and by Version 1.1 I’d added animations.

I could create the script. Be the voice talent. Lay down the ambient sound deck. And edit and mix. Then came the tech. I’m a good copywriter, but a pretty bad coder. So it took a while. And But I got it up. It took off. And I ended up with happy customers in 24 nations. I even got one member of the US military emailing to say my app got her off meds. (She was carrying a gun and on meds?) Unbreak created a new category. And soon it was joined my similar apps from TV hypnotists, scary Californian gurus and the rest. I carried on creating ads. And ended up married to my formerly heartbroken friend.
